From the moment Marching Powder opens

Through this, we begin to see some of the layers behind the crazed football hooligan that is introduced to us. He has a genuine desire to do better for his wife and son. We also get to see a potential cause of his behaviour through some peer pressure from his friends and the football fan culture constantly surrounding him. While this is a good building block for the story ahead, director Nick Love doesn’t seem to be able to do anything interesting with this narrative.
